A short history
of our club.
Our club was the first in New Zealand to be formed in the new Millennium, hence the inclusion of 2000 in our name. Approximately 70 people attended our first meeting in March 2000, which was chaired by our Inaugural President Doug Lilly. Within a year our club grew from 70 to 120 members. Our venue, the local Bowling Club, is central to four surrounding suburbs and serves our purpose extremely well in aspects of locality, size, convenience & affordability. We are now into our 14th year. Being a club of mixed membership, we are making an effort to ensure balance between male and female with neither exceeding 60% of the membership. Our committee does an excellent job in maintaining interest, with our program of Speakers, Outings and Activities enabling our members to enjoy a most congenial atmosphere. Visitors to our club are most warmly welcome.
